A New Generation
A new generation of the Church, sold out for Christ, is ready to enter its Land of Promise.
October 8, 2009
“God’s Word holds the moral principles upon which a strong and prosperous society rests. The Israelites adhered to God’s precepts and prospered above all nations, but when they set out to be like other nations, by rejecting Jehovah and demanding an earthly king, they withered internally and the whole nation collapsed. Overrun by other nations, demeaned by wicked kings, Israel lost the glory of their God.
Today, moral principles from God’s Word still form the only true value system that sustains life and makes societies worthwhile. Rejection of absolutes makes all rules and regulations relative and slanted to the self-interests of the powerful.” (Edwin Louis Cole – from his book Real Man)
The moral decay in our nation did not begin with those outside the church, but with those inside the church. God has given the Church both authority and power over Satan and his kingdom. The Church has always had the authority and the power to prevent the moral decay of our nation. But we wanted to be like those outside the Church, so we became like those outside the Church and the Church lost the glory of God…that is, we lost the weight of the influence of God in our nation. Have we paid a high price for it? Yes. Has our nation suffered greatly because of our unwillingness to obey? Yes.
However, there is a new movement afoot. It’s been growing, somewhat under the radar, for a while now. Just like the first generation of Israelites coming out of Egypt died before reaching the Land of Promise, the generation of the Church that abdicated its responsibility to stand in the gap here in America (and around the world) is now being replaced by a new generation that is sold out for Christ. We are ready to enter our Land of Promise.
We will not give up, shut up or let up until we have stayed up, stored up and paid up for the cause of Christ. We will go until He comes, give until we drop, preach until everyone knows and work until He stops us. And when He comes for His own, He will have no problem recognizing us.
He is our God; we are His people.
